How to prepare CSV rows for batch NFC tag writing on iPhone
Prepare, preview, write, verify, and export a CSV-driven NFC tag batch without treating batch writing as an unattended hardware process.
Boreal NFC’s Batch Writer turns CSV rows into a guided queue. It does not write a stack of tags automatically: the user still presents and verifies one physical tag for each pending row.
Batch Writer is included with the optional one-time Boreal NFC Pro purchase.
Use one value and an optional name per row
The current parser accepts newline-separated rows in this shape:
https://example.com/table-01,Table 01
https://example.com/table-02,Table 02
"https://example.com/sale?source=counter,summer",Counter summer link
The first column is the value written using the selected payload template. The second column is an optional label used to identify the row inside the batch. Values containing a comma should use CSV quotes. Empty value rows are ignored.
Normalize the data before starting
Before importing the file:
- Choose one payload kind for the batch.
- Use complete values, including
https://for website destinations. - Remove duplicate destinations unless duplicates are intentional.
- Give rows human-readable names that match the physical labels.
- Keep a source copy of the CSV outside the app.
Preview every row
Parsing proves that the file can be turned into rows; it does not prove that every value is correct. Review the row count, names, normalized values, validation status, and estimated payload sizes before the first physical write.
Write one tag at a time
Keep unused tags away from the iPhone. Present the tag that matches the current row, wait for the completed result, label or separate it, then advance to the next pending row.
If a row fails, preserve its status and retry deliberately. Do not shift the physical stack by one position and continue without reconciling the row-to-tag mapping.
Export and sample the finished batch
Export the CSV report after the run. Then read back every high-risk tag and a defined sample of the remaining batch. For a customer-facing deployment, test the installed tag and its QR fallback rather than accepting only the write-session result.
Product evidence and review
This guide reflects Boreal NFC 1.0.5’s shipped CSV parser and Batch Writer flow: import or paste rows, preview them, write one physical tag at a time, retain pending/success/failure state, retry failures, and export a report. Reviewed August 12, 2026.
